Overview

Join Globe From Home's Egyptologist on this exciting live-streamed, virtual visit to the Great Pyramids of Egypt, where you can explore both the grandeur of the exterior and the fascinating mysteries that lie hidden within. Get ready to be captivated by the ancient wonders of the Pharaohs and embark on a journey through time and history. Learn about ancient Egyptians, their beliefs, and how and why they built this architectural marvel that rightfully finds its place amongst the 'Ancient seven wonders of the world'.

As you walk, in real time, around the Pyramids, learn how 4500 years ago, the Pharaohs ruling Egypt believed they would be gods in their next lives, and made it a practice to build pyramid tombs for themselves that held everything they would need in the afterlife. There are three among those that have stood apart by their sheer enormity and together form the Great Pyramids of Giza. Our Egyptologist will let you in on historical tales from the ancient era and how this engineering feat could possibly have been achieved in those days. If you think you can gauge its size by looking at postcards or images on the internet that show all the three Pyramids, you are grossly mistaken. These original skyscrapers seem to dwarf people, camels or even the nearby city of Cairo that can be glimpsed in the distance.

You will also get a glimpse of what the Pyramids looks like from the inside. As you step inside the Great Pyramid of Giza during our virtual tour, you will be transported back in time to the awe-inspiring chambers that lie within. The air is cool and mysterious, and the dim lighting adds an air of mystique to the experience. Our Egyptologist  will illuminate the secrets and wonders hidden within the pyramid's ancient walls.

As you venture deeper into the pyramid, you will encounter the intricate passageways and corridors that were meticulously designed to protect and guide the pharaoh's spirit to the afterlife. The Egyptologist will explain the significance of the various chambers, such as the King's Chamber and the Queen's Chamber, and provide insights into the rituals and beliefs associated with these sacred spaces.

Inside the King's Chamber, you will come face to face with the magnificent sarcophagus, which once held the remains of the pharaoh. Marvel at the intricate carvings and hieroglyphics that adorn the walls, depicting the pharaoh's journey to immortality.  The Egyptologist will decipher the meaning behind these ancient symbols, shedding light on the profound religious and cultural beliefs of the ancient Egyptians.

Another fascinating aspect of the Great Pyramid is the presence of ancient boats, which were discovered in a nearby pit. These boats, known as the Solar Boats, were intricately crafted and believed to assist the pharaoh in his journey through the afterlife.

Throughout the tour, our Egyptologist will provide captivating stories and historical anecdotes, bringing the ancient world to life before your eyes. You will gain a deeper understanding of the pyramid's purpose, the techniques employed in its construction, and the enduring legacy it has left behind.
