Join this online master-class on the essentials of East Asian cooking with chef Pamela Chen which ends with an exciting virtual cook-off where you will battle for your place at the head of the Chef’s table. (You are free to invite friends and family to egg you on. Pun not intentional)
The first half of this 90 minute session will introduce you to the basics of oriental cooking covering ingredients, rules and skills required for East Asian cooking. (This includes cutting skills). You will learn to make a starter (Carrot & Beans sprouts salad), a main ( a choice between Taiwanese poached salmon or Stir fry broccoli) and fried noodles
In the second half of the session, you will be expected to put your learnings to practical use as you engage in a virtual cook off against your teammates, under the watchful eye of Pamela who will judge you on the basis of several factors including preparation skills, cooking method and final presentation. Being a virtual session, it is obviously not possible for Pamela to judge you on taste, but her years of experience are enough to help her ‘judge the book by the cover’.
