Whether it is pursuing further education abroad or an International career, it is critical that youngsters have a practical understanding of another country’s history, culture, etiquettes and language. Globe From Home has introduced the world’s first live, interactive, virtual Global readiness programs that aims to equip youngster's with knowledge about the U.K.
Comprising of 10, one-hour sessions delivered live from the U.K, the program uses a holistic approach combining immersive virtual destination tours with classroom based teaching to prepare youngsters for an international future.
Over the course of the program, students will virtually explore key destinations across the country while also learning about its rich history. The class-room based sessions cover British English pronunciation & accents and local customs & etiquettes. Students will also gain an orientation about the prospects of further education in the U.K and what student life is like in the country. One session is dedicated to the use of oral and verbal communication skills in a U.K based workplace, giving students key insights about working abroad.The sessions provide children with opportunity to interact with natives and use what they are learning in context.
Included in the program are live-streamed tours that cover major destinations in the UK. Besides learning about the country, the visits are designed to educate children about practical aspects of life in the UK (such as the shopping, food habits, working culture, local customs etc).
On a tour of London, students will visit key attractions and also learn about the country’s history and politics. On an aspirational visit to the educational town of Oxford, students will get a first-hand insight into the prospects of further education in the U.K. While touring Cardiff in Wales, students will visit a local market and interact with shopkeepers, familiarising them with daily life. In Northern Ireland, students will learn about its history while also admiring many tourist highlights. In Glasgow, children will go on an exciting Harry Potter walk while also learning about Scottish culture.
Language & Culture based classroom sessions:
The program includes five classroom-based sessions that will train students on language, culture and skills to use in an International workplace. A few of the sessions train students on how to improve pronunciation and become familiar with British accents. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about local cultural mannerisms and etiquettes. One session is dedicated to understanding how to use written and verbal communication in the work environment in the United Kingdom.
In the culminating session students will be assessed based on what they have learnt over the program and successful students will be awarded with a Global Readiness Program - U.K. certificate.
