Welcome to the world's first live, interactive session where learners will visit the UK virtually and learn about different British cultural etiquettes. This is an important session across many domains including international corporations, students and others where cross-cultural communication skills play a key role.
What makes this session impactful as compared to conventional pre-recorded and theoretical cultural orientation programs is the immersive, live, interactive world-travel based approach we adopt at Globe From Home. The session is designed in such a way that learners can feel like they are actually there with us exploring London together while learning about local etiquettes. The experience is highly interactive, so learners can ask questions or get more information on various topics they come across while exploring the city with the presenter.
For example, while entering a local building you will learn that It is considered good manners to open all doors for others following behind you. You will find out the ideal way in which to greet and address others. You will discover how being polite and using sorry and thank you are part of the common culture (and anyone not doing so would be frowned upon) Also how in day-to-day conversations addressing people with the 'Mr./Mrs./or Ms' honorific is not common in Britain.
You will discover how the driving culture is different to some other countries.
The presenter will talk with participants about how people like to interact and converse, such as whether it's bad (and annoying) to answer your phone while having an interesting conversation or during face-to-face meetings
These and several other nuances wait to be discovered on this highly interactive and fun session that will be transport learners to the UK, and provide crucial inter cultural learning.
