Welcome to the world’s first travel-based, online multicultural training program that helps diverse teams to work more inclusively and cohesively. This segment focusses on Italy and is presented by a team of local destination experts and guides who will offer you a unique understanding of the destination and its culture.
Nothing broadens the horizons of the human mind like travel. Only immersive travel can provide true perspective and appreciation of a new destination, its people and culture. This is why, unlike conventional multicultural training programs that are theory-based, ours is designed using travel as the central theme and is delivered, live, by destination-based experts and guides.
These virtual sessions enable teams to join remotely and engage with our local Italy experts, in an interactive and fun environment, making them active learners. The program is designed to generate a deeper respect for the destination and its culture. This understanding, in turn, will enable your team to communicate more seamlessly with colleagues and customers in Italy.
This session is co-presented by Italian chef Pietro Visconti and a team of destination guides from around Italy headed by the affable Francesca Pagliano. While Pietro will give participants an insight into Italian culture, the team of guides from various places like Rome, Milan, Florence, Venice and other areas of importance will take turns to enlighten you about destination highlights.
No session on Italy can be complete without touching upon the local cuisine. This session ends with participants being taught how to make a local Italian dish under the tutelage of Chef Pietro.
At the end of these sessions team members will gain the following;
1. An understanding of the main destination highlights in Italy.
2. Awareness of the local culture & etiquettes.
3. Local communication styles & etiquettes
4. An understanding of 'Do’s & Don’ts' when travelling to Italy or dealing with locals.
Pietro was born and raised in Milan as an only child in a family that had people over for dinner every day. His passion for home cooking comes from both parents. His love for people comes from his father and while his mother made him a dreamer.
During university, he spent a semester in England, working as a part time chef in an Italian restaurant: there, he was the only Italian and learned everything he didn’t want to do in a kitchen.
Returning to Italy he started a career in HR, developing training projects in a small company. Although Pietro decided to leave his job and take a full year to travel Australia, Asia and Central America, he considers this background invaluable to his newest chapter in life. This experience also taught him how little the world knew about Italian food!
